August 2022: The Boston Braves F.C. will be the first North American organization to be hosted in the countries of Hungary and Austria.
In the beautiful city of Budapest, the country’s top sports organization will host our Club, and at the same time, the country’s leading and the most historic clubs will receive the Braves.
Then in the gorgeous city of Vienna, they will be hosted by the country’s most decorated team, SK RAPID Wien. Click on the images below to see details of the teams.
The Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) hosted Spiros Tourkakis at the National Team’s Headquarters in Budapest and at its beautiful training center in Telki. In the warm meetings with Sandor Berzi (Vice President of the FA), Imre Gellei (Head Coach), József Bazsánt (Veteran Team’s Manager), Károly Csiki, Péter Czuppon (General Director of the National Team Training Center) and Szilveszter Kovacs (FA Grassroots Director) the FA invited the Braves who will be hosted in the beautiful city of Budapest in 2022.
Christian Keglevits, an International star for the country of Austria,
and Florian Sturm, Manager of the Rapid’s Veteran team invited
Spiros Tourkakis to Austria. In the meetings at Allianz Stadium,
both sides agreed for the Austrian Champion to host the Braves
in Vienna in 2022.

Ferencvárosi TC is Hungary’s most decorated football club having won the Nemzeti Bajnokság (the country’s top league) 32 times and the Cup 23 times (it is also leading the top league this year). On Wednesday, August 28, Balint Mate, Internationale Director of Ferencvaros, met with Spiros Tourkakis and Péter Czuppon of the HFF. In the meeting, the relationship between Ferencvaros and Boston Braves has discussed as well as the match between the two clubs when the Braves will be in Budapest in 2022.
The strong relationship between AEK Athens and Boston Braves goes back to twenty years ago when AEK participated in the original Tournament of 2001 that sparked the Boston Braves FC’s program.
On November 2, 2021 Mihalis Symigdalas, President of AEK’s veterans, met with Spiros Tourkakis in Greece. The two men discussed the relationship and future cooperation between the two clubs.
With AEK’s new stadium to be completed early next year, it was agreed that the two clubs will play the first match between them in 2022.
