The Boston Braves F.C. evolved from concepts, ideas, and events dating back to Nov. 3rd, 2000.
At that time, a visit to Boston by the Bristol, England-based seniors’ football club, the MooMoos F.C., inspired Spiros Tourkakis to the original idea of a seniors’ Football Tournament in Athens, Greece. At the beginning of 2001, he started putting together a team to participate in the event and attracting other teams. Since the response and interest were very positive, the Tournament was expanded to include some of the well-known teams from Southeast Europe.
Thus, the First International Friendship Tournament of Football Veterans in Athens, Greece was created.
